We are embarking on a strategic and exciting journey to migrate our core e-commerce platform from Adobe Commerce Cloud to a self-hosted Magento Open Source environment on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This is a critical role that requires a blend of deep Magento expertise, hands-on AWS infrastructure proficiency, and a strong understanding of containerization with Docker.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Magento & AWS Cloud Migration Engineer to lead this migration effort, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and scalable transition. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully deploying and optimizing Magento Open Source specifically on AWS using Docker, and will be instrumental in defining and implementing our new cloud architecture.

Key Responsibilities :

- Platform Migration Leadership : Lead the end-to-end migration of our Magento Open Source platform from Adobe Commerce Cloud to AWS.

- Architectural Design & Implementation : Design, propose, and implement a robust, scalable, and highly available AWS infrastructure optimized for Magento Open Source, leveraging Docker for application deployment.

- Dockerization & Container Orchestration : Develop and maintain Docker images and Docker Compose configurations for Magento and its dependencies (e.g., PHP-FPM, Nginx, Redis, MySQL/MariaDB), ensuring efficient containerization and deployment on AWS.

- AWS Service Utilization : Proficiently utilize and configure relevant AWS services, including but not limited to :

1. Compute : EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud), ECS (Elastic Container Service) or EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service) for container orchestration.

2. Database : RDS (Relational Database Service) for MySQL/MariaDB, ElastiCache for Redis.

3. Storage : EBS (Elastic Block Store), EFS (Elastic File System) for shared media, S3 (Simple Storage Service) for static assets and backups.

4. Networking : VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), Load Balancers (ALB/NLB), Route 53 (DNS), WAF (Web Application Firewall).

5. Monitoring & Logging : CloudWatch, CloudTrail.

6. Automation : CloudFormation or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AWS Systems Manager.

- Performance Optimization : Implement and continuously optimize Magento performance on AWS, including caching strategies (Varnish, Redis), CDN integration (CloudFront), database tuning, and code optimization.

- Security & Compliance : Ensure the Magento application and AWS infrastructure adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements, including configuring Security Groups, IAM roles, SSL/TLS, and regular patching.

- CI/CD Pipeline Development : Collaborate with development teams to establish and maintain continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for Magento deployments on AWS.

- Troubleshooting & Support : Provide expert-level troubleshooting and resolution for Magento and AWS-related issues, ensuring high availability and stability of the e-commerce platform.

- Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for the AWS architecture, deployment processes, and operational procedures.

- Collaboration : Work closely with development, QA, and business teams to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and ensure successful project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience :

- 4-6 years of hands-on experience in e-commerce platform development, DevOps, or cloud engineering roles.

- Proven experience with Magento Open Source : Deep understanding of Magento architecture (Magento 2.x preferred), module development, theme customization, and performance optimization.

- Extensive experience with AWS : Demonstrable history of designing, deploying, and managing complex applications on AWS.

- Mandatory experience with Magento on AWS : Crucially, direct experience in migrating or setting up Magento Open Source specifically on AWS is required. You should be able to articulate and map out the entire migration process.

- Strong Docker expertise : Proficient in containerizing applications with Docker, writing Dockerfiles, and using Docker Compose for multi-container applications. Experience with container orchestration services (ECS, EKS) is highly desirable.

- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Experience with tools like AWS CloudFormation or Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning.

- Database Management : Solid understanding of MySQL/MariaDB, including optimization, replication, and backup strategies.

- Web Servers : Experience with Nginx and Apache configuration for Magento.

- Version Control : Proficient with Git and Git workflows.

- Scripting : Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.

- Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.

- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications :

- AWS Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate/Professional).

- Magento Certified Developer.

- Experience with other caching technologies like Varnish.

- Familiarity with monitoring tools beyond CloudWatch (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).

- Experience in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
