Magellanic Cloud - Senior Java Backend Engineer - Microservices Architecture

About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer to architect and build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems powering the ScanalitiX surveillance, AI analytics, and Smart Access platform.

What You'll Do :

- Architect & implement Java/Spring Boot microservices for surveillance, Smart Access, PMS/AMS, AI event ingestion.

- Build secure video transfer workflows (encryption, tokenization, SSL/TLS, tunneling, signed URLs).

- Design metadata pipelines for AI, VMS, and edge device events.

- Optimize PostgreSQL schemas, partitions, indexing, performance tuning.

- Deploy and scale workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, GitOps CI/CD.

- Implement workflow automation: rules engine, SOP compliance, multi-tenant access.

- Collaborate with AI and Edge teams to integrate detection metadata.

- Improve observability (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK).

- Perform design reviews, enforce coding quality, mentor junior developers.

Required Skills :

- 4-8 years strong Java & Spring Boot microservices experience.

- PostgreSQL optimization & data modeling expertise.

- Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm.

- Secure video streaming: RTSP/HLS, encryption, tokens, tunnels.

- Experience with distributed systems, caching, WebSockets/SSE.

Preferred Skills :

- Worked on VMS/CCTV systems.

- Exposure to AI metadata, JSON schemas, ML pipelines.
