Maersk - Senior Software Engineer - DevOps/Site Reliability

About the Role :

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who combines strong software development expertise with practical experience in DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).

This role requires a hands-on coding mindset and a design-thinking approach to build scalable, reliable, and user-centric systems. You will work across the full engineering lifecycle, driving automation, operational excellence, and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Hands-on Development :

- Design and implement robust, scalable applications using modern programming languages and frameworks.

- Write clean, efficient, and testable code with a focus on maintainability and performance.

- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.

Design Thinking :

- Apply user-centric design principles to solve complex technical problems.

- Collaborate with product and UX teams to ensure solutions align with business and customer needs.

- Prototype and iterate quickly to validate ideas before full-scale implementation.

DevOps & SRE :

- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.

- Implement infrastructure-as-code and automate operational tasks.

- Ensure system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and incident management.

- Drive postmortem analysis and continuous improvement for system resilience.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Technical Expertise :

- Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Python, Go).

- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.

- Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).

DevOps & SRE :

- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).

- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, FluxCD).

- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform).

- Familiarity with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
