Job Summary :

We are seeking a seasoned Linux System Administrator with 4+ years of experience to join our Global Engineering Support (GES) team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in troubleshooting Linux systems, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) with experience in supporting large scale infrastructure. Should have experience of working with On-premises and cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in scripting and automation is desirable.

This role requires working night shifts to support global operations and ensure high system availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

- Manage and support Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments

- Monitor system performance and ensure optimal uptime and reliability

- Perform system updates, patching, and backups

- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies

- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues

- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet)

- Working experience in EDA Engineering environment with tools such as LSF will be a plus

- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures

- Collaborate with global IT and support teams to ensure seamless operations

- Utilize ITSM tools such as ServiceNow for incident, problem, and change management

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or Diploma with equivalent experience

- Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration

- Proficiency in managing VDI environments and GRID computing infrastructure

- Experience with LSF job scheduling and workload management

- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.)

- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus etc.)

- Solid understanding of networking protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)

- Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow

- Ability to work independently during night shifts and handle critical incidents

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications such as RHCE will be a plus.

- Citrix, VMWare, Oracle KVM knowledge

- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

- Knowledge of ITIL practices
