- Audio Validation : Execute functional, stress, and performance testing for Linux audio drivers, specifically focusing on ALSA (Advanced Linux Sound Architecture) and ASoC (ALSA System on Chip).
Required Technical Skills :
- Linux Internals : Strong understanding of the Linux Kernel architecture, memory management, and interrupt handling.
- Audio Protocols : Hands-on experience with digital audio interfaces (I2S, PCM, Slimbus, or SoundWire).
- Programming : High proficiency in Python (for automation) and C (for understanding driver source code).
- Tooling : Experience with amixer, alsamixer, aplay, and arecord. Knowledge of Audio Precision (AP) or similar hardware analyzers is a plus.
- Frameworks : Experience with automation frameworks like LAVA, Autotest, or Avocado.
Key Responsibilities :
- Validation & Testing : Perform functional, performance, and power validation of Linux drivers and board bring-up on new hardware platforms.
- Debugging & Analysis : Use tools like JTAG, protocol analyzers, and debuggers (e.g., GDB, KGDB) to analyze complex system-level issues.
- Automation : Develop test scripts and automation frameworks using Python or Shell scripting to streamline validation processes.
- Collaboration : Work with hardware and software teams to debug driver issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Documentation : Create test plans, reports, and documentation for validation cycles.
Required Skills and Experience :
- Core Technical Skills : Strong understanding of Linux Kernel concepts, memory management, interrupts, and device drivers.
- Programming Languages : Proficiency in Embedded C for driver code and testing, along with Python/Shell for automation.
- Hardware Knowledge : Experience with peripherals and buses, such as PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, UART, or GPIO.
- Tools : Familiarity with Git, Yocto Project, and debugging tools like JTAG or logic analyzers.
- Education/Experience : Usually requires a B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in ECE/CSE with 2-8+ years of experience.
