Description :

1. Position Overview / Purpose :

Performs database operations and fulfills service requests for SAP HANA and Oracle databases across Lenovos managed SAP environments. Ensures data integrity, performance stability, and availability through timely execution of DB-related activities.

2. Key Responsibilities :

- Execute service requests for backup restore, user creation, schema modification, and parameter tuning.

- Monitor DB health (through HANA Cockpit, DBACOCKPIT, and OEM) and resolve alerts within SLA.

- Validate daily backups and maintain DR replication status.

- Perform DB patching and revision upgrades following Lenovo CAB approval.

- Analyze slow queries and support Basis SMEs for performance issues.

- Document DB service requests and update ServiceNow records with execution proofs.

- Support system refresh activities and post-copy automation.

- Collaborate with Infra SMEs to ensure storage and I/O performance.

3. Core Technical Expertise Required :

- SAP HANA DB architecture and tools (HANA Studio, HANA Cockpit, DBACOCKPIT).

- Oracle DB 11g/12c administration (RMAN, SQL Tuning).

- OS: Linux (SLES/RHEL) and Windows Server environments.

- Backup solutions: Commvault, Azure Backup Vault, AWS Snapshots.

- Monitoring: Azure Monitor, CloudWatch, ServiceNow Events.

- Basic scripting in Bash or PowerShell.

4. Certifications / Preferred Training :

- SAP HANA DB Certification / Oracle Certified Associate.

6. Collaboration & Customer Centricity and KPIs :

- Partner with SAP Basis and Infra teams to resolve DB alerts and optimize resources.

- KPIs aligned with Lenovo DB availability, performance, and backup success metrics
