JOB OVERVIEW :
Legion is seeking an accomplished engineering leader to head the Planning & Forecasting product engineering organization.
This leader will own the development team for Legion's labor planning suite, demand forecasting engine, labor optimization product, and next-generation predictive AI capabilities.
The role requires a deep technical background in large-scale distributed systems, modern machine learning, and enterprise SaaS.
The ideal candidate combines strong architectural intuition, hands-on technical depth, and proven success leading high-performing engineering teams.
This position is critical to Legion's mission and product strategy, driving the evolution of core predictive services that power labor efficiency for our global customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES :
Technical Leadership & Architecture :
- Own the architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance of all Planning & Forecasting systems, including Legion's forecasting engine, labor planning algorithms, and optimization services.
- Lead development of next-generation forecasting platforms that integrate ML, deep learning, classical time-series modeling, and (as necessary for this problem statement) generative AI.
- Drive technical decisions on system design, data pipelines, model serving infrastructure, container orchestration, observability, and high-availability patterns.
- Lead the data science teams to operationalize advanced models and ensure robust MLOps, versioning, experimentation, and continuous improvement frameworks.
Product & Strategy :
- Collaborate closely with Product Management to define roadmaps, align on outcomes, and translate customer and market needs into actionable engineering plans.
- Deeply understand customer use cases across forecasting, labor planning, budgeting, and cost optimization.
- Drive innovation in enterprise-grade planning systems, including multi-scenario plan generation, optimization formulations, and real-time intelligence.

As a global employer, Legion determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data.
We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living.

Salaries will be based on the applicant's location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills.
Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position.
