Job Summary :


We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager I to lead a team of software engineers in building scalable, high-performance products. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, people leadership, and delivery ownership. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving engineering excellence, managing team performance, and delivering robust solutions aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of software engineers, ensuring high performance and professional growth

- Drive end-to-end delivery of projects, including planning, execution, and release management

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define technical solutions

- Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, system design, and architecture

- Conduct code reviews and maintain high standards of software quality

- Own system design decisions and guide the team on scalable and maintainable architecture

- Manage sprint planning, task allocation, and progress tracking in Agile environments

- Identify and mitigate technical risks and bottlenecks

- Ensure timely delivery of features with high reliability and performance

- Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and practices

Required Skills & Expertise :


- Strong experience in software development using languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js

- Solid understanding of system design, microservices architecture, and distributed systems

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

- Hands-on experience with databases (SQL and NoSQL)

- Strong understanding of APIs, RESTful services, and backend development

- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Leadership & Management Skills :


- Proven experience in managing and scaling engineering teams

- Strong people management skills including hiring, performance management, and mentoring

- Ability to drive collaboration across cross-functional teams

- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications :

- Prior experience in a product-based organization or high-growth startup

- Exposure to building large-scale, high-availability systems

- Understanding of security, performance optimization, and system monitoring

- Experience in handling production systems and incident management
