Lead User Interface Designer (UI Tech Lead)

Velodata Global Pvt Ltd is looking for a highly experienced and skilled Lead User Interface Designer (UI Tech Lead) to join our dynamic team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This is an onsite position, and we are seeking candidates with an immediate to 20-day notice period.

About the Role :

As a Lead User Interface Designer (UI Tech Lead), you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience and technical direction of our eCommerce platforms. You will bridge the gap between design and development, ensuring the delivery of cohesive, high-quality, and performant frontend solutions. This role requires exceptional technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively with both onsite and offshore teams.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership & Architecture :

- Provide strong technical leadership for the UI development team.

- Define and drive the architectural vision for scalable and high-performance frontend solutions within an eCommerce ecosystem.

- Guide the team in adopting best practices, design patterns, and coding standards.

Design & Development :

- Oversee the design and development of user interfaces using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, and GraphQL.

- Ensure the implementation of visually appealing, user-friendly, and responsive designs that align with business objectives.

- Deep understanding and hands-on experience with modern frontend tooling (Webpack, Babel, etc.).

- Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).

Team Collaboration & Mentorship :

- Work closely with offshore and onsite teams to define and deliver cohesive and high-quality outcomes.

- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.

- Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical coaching to frontend developers, helping them enhance their skills and grow professionally.

E-commerce Domain Expertise :

- Leverage strong understanding of eCommerce domain specific challenges and solutions, including conversion optimization, A/B testing, and analytics tools.

Stakeholder Interaction :

- Possess excellent customer-interfacing skills to gather requirements, present solutions, and manage expectations effectively.

Quality Assurance & Optimization :

- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.

- Conduct regular code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring adherence to technical standards.

Technology Adoption :

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies in frontend development.

Required Skills & Experience :

Experience : 10-14 years of overall IT experience, with more than 8 years in a leadership capacity within an IT environment.

Mandatory Skills :

- React : Strong proficiency and extensive experience in building complex applications with React.

- TypeScript : In-depth knowledge and practical experience with TypeScript.

- JavaScript : Advanced expertise in JavaScript (ES6+).

- GraphQL : Proven experience integrating and working with GraphQL APIs.

- E-commerce Domain : Solid understanding and practical experience in the eCommerce domain.

- Frontend Technologies : Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend tooling (Webpack, Babel, etc.).

- Leadership : Excellent leadership skills with a track record of leading and mentoring development teams.

- Architectural Exposure : Proven architectural exposure in building and scaling frontend solutions, specifically within an eCommerce environment.

- Communication : Exceptional customer-interfacing skills and ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to Have Skills :

- E-commerce Platforms : Experience with specific eCommerce platforms like Shopify or Next.js.

- Cloud Technologies : Some experience with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

- DevOps : Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices related to frontend deployment.
