Lead SQL Developer

About the Job :

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Lead SQL Developer to join our team in Hyderabad, India. This is a 3-6 month contract-to-hire position, and a willingness to convert to a full-time employee is a must. This is a hybrid role requiring you to be on-site 3 days a week.

As a Lead SQL Developer, you'll be responsible for designing and developing robust data models, optimizing SQL queries, and ensuring the performance and scalability of our database systems. This is a leadership position, so previous experience leading a team is required.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design and develop logical and physical data models to support application requirements.

- Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data transformation logic.

- Collaborate with application developers to ensure efficient data access patterns and scalable database interactions.

- Lead efforts to scale and manage the database from an application performance perspective.

- Monitor and improve query performance, ensuring responsiveness under high load.

- Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for data access and modeling.

- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of high performance and technical excellence.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Previous experience in a leadership role is mandatory.

- Strong experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS).

- Familiarity with data modeling tools and performance tuning techniques.

- Experience in environments with high concurrency and large-scale data access.

- Exposure to business logic or financial systems is a plus, but not required.
