Lead Software Development Engineer - Test

Role Summary :

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead SDET with deep domain expertise in Retail Banking and strong hands-on technical capabilities across mobile, web, and API testing. This is an individual contributor role that requires strong technical leadership, end-to-end ownership of QE activities, driving quality initiatives, defining test strategies, and leading cross-functional collaboration to ensure high-quality releases.

Core Mandatory Skills & Competencies :

- Deep hands-on experience in BFSI/Banking domains, with exposure to UPI, Cards, Payments, Wallets, Deposits, FC, Onboarding/Registration, Open Markets, Loans, Investments, and more.

- Must be currently performing the role of QE Lead / Senior QA with end-to-end testing responsibilities.

- Individual Contributor role with mandatory hands-on involvement in testing activities; no people-management responsibilities.

- Proven ability to lead and manage daily QE activities, test planning, and deliverables.

- Expertise in Mobile App Testing, Web Application Testing, and API Testing.

- Strong command of Functional Manual Testing.

- Excellent knowledge of automation testing and hands-on programming experience using Java, Python, Selenium, Katalon, EggPlant, or any industry-standard automation tools/frameworks.

- Experience integrating automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and related tooling.

- Strong exposure to SDET frameworks, TDD practices, and test architecture.

- Good knowledge of AI concepts, conversational banking, and adoption of AI practices within QE.

- Deep understanding of test environments, infrastructure, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Experience working within SAFe Agile environments.

- Ability to develop comprehensive Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Reviews, Estimations, and process documentation focused on efficiency and metrics.

- Demonstrated success in driving Quality Initiatives and measurable efficiency improvements.

- Expertise in actionable metrics creation, JIRA dashboards, and management reporting.

- Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve QE issues independently or by coordinating with stakeholders.

- Ability to analyze GCP transaction logs, interface logs, and derive actionable insights.

- Ability to mentor junior engineers and guide them in day-to-day QA activities.

- Capable of working effectively with QE managers and senior management on test strategy, automation, and project quality.

- Lead and drive Defect Triage Meetings with multiple stakeholders.

Tools Exposure (Required) :

- Test Automation : Mobile Automation Tools, Python/Selenium, EggPlant, Katalon, or equivalent.

- JIRA, Scrum Boards, Confluence, and project management tools.

- Test Management Tools: Zephyr, Rational Quality Manager, etc.

- API Testing using Postman collections.

- Experience working with GCP logs (transaction & interface).

- Familiarity with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot.

Important Notes :

- This position does not involve people management responsibilities.

- Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, including extended hours or weekends when required.

- Position is based in Bangalore

- 4 Days Work From Office is mandatory.
