We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in T-SQL-based data platforms to design, build, and maintain enterprise-scale data solutions. The ideal candidate must have strong hands-on experience with on-premises SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Data Factory and the ability to work across modern and legacy data environments.

You will collaborate closely with architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-performance data solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Data Engineering & Development :

- Design, develop, and optimise end-to-end data pipelines using advanced T-SQL for data ingestion, transformation, and integration.

- Build and maintain ETL/ELT solutions using Azure Data Factory (ADF) for cloud and hybrid data environments.

- Develop and optimise complex T-SQL objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and performance-tuned queries.

- Implement robust data validation, error handling, and data quality checks.

Database & Data Platform Management :

- Design, manage, and optimize on-premises SQL Server databases (performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and capacity planning).

- Work extensively with Azure SQL to support cloud-based reporting and analytics solutions.

- Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of data platforms across on-premise and cloud environments.

- Support data integration with external systems and third-party sources.

Reporting, Analytics & Visualization :

- Support reporting and analytics solutions using:

1. SSRS (good to have)

2. Power BI (good to have)

- Collaborate with business users and analysts to deliver trusted, performant datasets for reporting and dashboards.

Cloud & Modern Data Technologies :

- Integrate cloud-based data solutions using Azure Data Factory.

- Exposure to Snowflake for cloud data warehousing is a plus.

- Leverage best practices for security, access control, and performance optimization in Azure environments.

Collaboration & Leadership :

- Work closely with data architects, data analysts, and application teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

- Provide technical guidance, design reviews, and mentoring to junior engineers.

- Create and maintain technical documentation, standards, and best practices.

Mandatory Skills & Experience :

- Minimum 10 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related roles.

- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL (must have).

- On-Premises SQL Server (must have) - strong hands-on experience.

- Azure SQL (must have).

- Azure Data Factory - ADF (must have).

- Strong experience in database design, data modelling, and performance tuning.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle complex data challenges.
