Lead SAP Ariba Integration Architect

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead SAP Ariba Integration Architect to oversee and lead all technical aspects of procurement technology implementations and complex system integrations. This long-term, high-impact role requires an expert capable of serving as the primary technical interface between SAP Ariba and various enterprise-level procurement and financial platforms. The Architect will be responsible for defining the integration strategy, ensuring seamless data flow, optimizing system performance, and driving technical solutions that align with strategic business objectives for compliance and scalability.

Core Responsibilities :

Technical Integration Leadership :

- Provide senior technical leadership for complex procurement technology implementations, focusing specifically on integration between SAP Ariba modules (Sourcing, Buying, Contract Management) and external enterprise platforms.

- Define and develop robust, scalable integration strategies utilizing various technical methodologies, including direct API consumption, strategic use of middleware platforms (SAP PI/PO, Dell Boomi, MuleSoft), and standard ETL tools.

- Oversee the design and implementation of secure and reliable data flow architecture between Ariba and adjacent systems (SAP S/4HANA, ERPs, Identity Management).

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Governance :

- Collaborate extensively with diverse stakeholder groups, including procurement business owners, enterprise IT teams, and third-party vendor technical teams, to ensure compliance, data accuracy, and system stability.

- Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Ariba technical capabilities, integration best practices, and data governance standards within the procurement landscape.

Implementation and Quality Assurance :

- Oversee and technically guide system configuration, ensuring all technical settings and integration parameters within SAP Ariba and connected systems are aligned precisely with approved business goals and functional requirements.

- Lead the technical planning and execution of all phases of testing, including unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing for critical data interfaces (master data sync, transactional data transfer).

- Manage and troubleshoot complex integration failures and performance bottlenecks, providing expert-level technical solutions and driving root-cause analysis.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Experience : 10+ years of progressive, hands-on experience leading procurement technology implementations in a large-scale enterprise environment.

- SAP Ariba Expertise : Strong experience leading technical implementation/integration projects involving SAP Ariba (Sourcing, Spend Analysis, Invoice Management) and target ERP systems, preferably SAP S/4HANA or ECC.

- Integration Technologies : Proven expertise in developing and deploying integration solutions using :

1. APIs (REST, SOAP) for real-time and near-real-time data exchange.

2. Middleware platforms or Enterprise Service Buses (ESBs).

3. ETL tools for bulk and scheduled data migration/synchronization.

- Technical Management : Ability to manage technical project deliverables, define scope, and ensure that technical solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and meet long-term scalability needs.

- Stakeholder Management : Exceptional communication skills with a proven ability to bridge the communication gap between technical teams and non-technical procurement/business stakeholders.

Preferred Skills & Experience :

- Domain Knowledge : Strong functional understanding of core procurement processes, including sourcing-to-contract (S2C), procure-to-pay (P2P), supplier onboarding/lifecycle management, and strategies for optimizing tail spend.

- Emerging Technologies : Exposure to emerging trends such as agentic AI, autonomous sourcing, or intelligent process automation applied to the procurement function.

- Project Context : Background in consulting or a history of successfully leading large-scale procurement digital transformation initiatives.

- Cloud Integration : Experience integrating SAP Ariba with modern cloud data warehousing solutions (Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Google BigQuery).
