Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Manual Tester with over 6 years of experience in manual testing. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in writing and executing BDD-based manual test cases and bring solid domain knowledge in the insurance industry. Experience with automation testing is an added advantage and will be considered a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and coordinate testing activities for multiple projects.

- Understand business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications to create detailed and structured manual test cases using BDD approach (Gherkin syntax).

- Perform end-to-end functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and other QA team members to ensure thorough test coverage and timely delivery.

- Identify, log, track, and retest bugs through the defect lifecycle using tools like JIRA, TestRail, or similar.

- Drive testing best practices, standards, and documentation.

- Conduct peer reviews and mentor junior testers in the team.

- Provide regular testing progress updates to stakeholders and participate in daily Agile ceremonies.

- Support automation initiatives when required and collaborate with the automation team for enhancing test efficiency.

- Prepare test summary reports and participate in Go/No-Go decisions.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 6+ years of experience in Manual Testing.

- Strong hands-on experience with BDD frameworks and tools (e.g., writing test cases in Gherkin).

- In-depth knowledge of the Insurance domain (Life, Health, P&C or others).

- Proficiency in test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestLink, Zephyr).

- Sound understanding of STLC, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.

- Experience in creating test plans, test cases, and test data management.

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

- Ability to lead a team and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred/Good to Have :

- Exposure to Automation Testing tools such as Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG, or similar.

- Familiarity with API testing tools like Postman or SoapUI.

- Knowledge of SQL and database validation.

- ISTQB or any relevant QA certification.
