Lead Mainframe Tester

Job Description :

As a Lead Mainframe Tester, you will be responsible for overseeing the testing processes of our mainframe applications. This role requires a strong background in mainframe technologies and hands-on experience in testing methodologies. You will work closely with development teams to ensure optimal application performance and functionality.

Your expertise in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM will be critical in identifying and resolving issues. Additionally, you will utilize various debugging and SCM tools, including Endevor, as well as scheduling tools like CA7, to streamline testing processes and enhance the overall quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities :

- Looking for a Fullstack Tester with knowledge on Mainframe & Distributed platforms. Willing to perform Batch testing using JCL, Db2, VSAM, SQL on Mainframes, Knowledge of funcional testing.

- Good to have: Candidate should have knowledge in automation testing with Core java, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and scripting languages.

- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies and cases for full stack applications, covering both distributed and mainframe platforms.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including developers, QA, business stakeholders, and support teams-to ensure robust solutions and effective defect resolution.

- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, test planning, execution, and support.

- Troubleshoot, triage, and document defects, ensuring high quality, maintainability, and responsiveness of applications.

- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the QA and engineering teams.

Requirements :

- 5-7 years of experience in mainframe testing

- Strong knowledge of COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM

- Experience with debugging tools and SCM tools like Endevor

- Familiarity with scheduling tools like CA7

- Proven ability to work collaboratively with development teams

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Qualifications :

- 5-7 years of experience in QA/testing roles with exposure to both distributed and mainframe technologies.

- Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and mainframe technologies ( DB2, JCL, VSAM, SQL).

- Proficiency in test automation frameworks and scripting.

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

- Familiarity with agile methodologies and working in hybrid onshore/offshore models.
