Lead Mainframe Developer - COBOL/CICS

Job Description

We are seeking a Lead Mainframe Developer with 5-7 years of experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, and VSAM, along with experience using debugging tools and SCM tools like Endevor. Proficiency in scheduling tools such as CA7 is essential.


Familiarity with Java and REXX programming is a plus, as is knowledge of the US Healthcare domain. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Participate in all phases of software development, including design, configuration, testing, debugging, implementation, and support of mainframe and distributed applications.

- Excellent knowledge in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM. Knowledge in MQ, Teradata will be a plus.

- Good knowledge on Debugging tools, SCM tools like Endevor, scheduling tools like CA7.

- Apply structured, methodical approaches to systems development and troubleshooting, demonstrating exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ramp up quickly on new system architectures and technologies, supporting continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.

- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence in application support, and demonstrate a passion for learning and exploring all areas of IT.

Requirements :

- 5-7 years of experience as a Mainframe Developer

- Excellent knowledge in COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM

- Experience with debugging tools and SCM tools like Endevor

- Proficiency in scheduling tools like CA7

- Knowledge of Java programming is a plus

- Knowledge of REXX programming is a plus

- Familiarity with the US Healthcare domain

Preferred Qualifications :

- 5-7 years of experience in mainframe application development or support.

- Proven experience working with diverse, cross-functional teams.
