Job Purpose :

The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS. This role involves leading the adoption of best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, and monitoring, while also mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities :

As a Lead DevOps Engineer, your core responsibilities will include :

Cloud Infrastructure Management & Strategy :

- Lead the design, deployment, and management of robust and scalable cloud infrastructure on Azure (3+ years) and AWS (1+ year).

- Oversee the configuration and management of key AWS services including EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud), IAM (Identity and Access Management), VPC (Virtual Private Cloud), and S3 (Simple Storage Service).

- Architect and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, and disaster-recovery solutions across multi-cloud environments.

CI/CD Pipeline Development & Optimization :

- Design, implement, and maintain advanced CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, and/or GitLab/GitHub Actions to automate software delivery from development to production.

- Ensure rapid, reliable, and consistent deployments by optimizing existing pipelines and introducing new automation where necessary.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

- Develop, manage, and maintain infrastructure using IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates to ensure consistent and repeatable environments.

- Promote and enforce IaC best practices within the team.

Containerization & Orchestration :

- Mandatory expertise in Docker for containerization of applications, including image building, container orchestration, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration is a significant plus.

System Administration & Scripting :

- Proficiency in Linux Administration, including troubleshooting, performance tuning, and security hardening.

- Strong scripting skills in Shell/YAML for automation of routine tasks and pipeline configuration.

DevSecOps & Monitoring (Good to have) :

- Familiarity with DevSecOps tools such as SonarQube for static code analysis and Snyk for vulnerability scanning is a plus.

- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure the health and performance of infrastructure and applications.

Leadership & Mentoring :

- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DevOps engineers, guiding them on best practices, troubleshooting, and career growth.

- Participate in hiring processes and contribute to team skill development.

- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within the DevOps practice.

Collaboration :

- Collaborate closely with development, QA, and operations teams to establish seamless workflows and resolve cross-functional issues.

Key Requirements :

- Total Experience : 6+ years of total experience in DevOps engineering.

Cloud Expertise :

- Azure DevOps : 3+ years of hands-on experience with Azure DevOps services (Pipelines, Boards, Repos, Artifacts).

- AWS : 1+ year of practical experience with core AWS services including EC2, IAM, VPC, and S3.

- CI/CD Tools : Proficient with Azure DevOps, and/or GitLab/GitHub Actions.

- IaC Tools : Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and/or ARM templates.

Containerization :

- Docker (Mandatory) : In-depth knowledge and practical experience.

- Kubernetes (Plus) : Experience with Kubernetes deployment and management.

- Scripting & OS : Proficient in Linux Administration and Shell/YAML scripting.

- DevSecOps : Experience with DevSecOps tools like SonarQube, Snyk is a plus.

- Leadership : Prior experience in a lead role or strong experience in mentoring team members.

- Experience with other monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).

- Familiarity with database administration concepts.
