Working model : Onsite (MBRDI office Bangalore)
Role Summary :
The Lead Developer is the hands-on technical lead for building, customizing and integrating the OpenText platform. The role turns architecture into working, tested and documented software : Content Server modules, Smart UI customizations, Archive Center and Intelligent Viewing integrations, and OTDS-based access control - while guiding development quality and standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead hands-on development and customization of OpenText Content Server : custom modules (OScript), WebReports, LiveReports, workflows, categories & attributes, permission models, classification and records management configuration.
- Develop and maintain Smart UI customizations : custom widgets, perspectives, perspective rules, tiles, branding and responsive UI extensions.
- Build integrations using Content Server REST API and CWS/SOAP services, Archive Center APIs and document pipelines, Intelligent Viewing APIs, and OTDS APIs.
- Implement Intelligent Viewing integration : rendition handling, viewer embedding, annotation and redaction workflows.
- Implement Archive Center configuration and integration : storage tiers, pipelines, retention, legal hold and archiving interfaces.
- Configure and integrate OTDS : partitions, synchronization, SSO, role and permission provisioning.
- Develop migration and data-processing scripts/tooling; execute dry runs, reconciliation and validation.
- Own build and release of custom code : version control, branching, code review, automated build and deployment pipelines.
- Write unit, integration and regression tests; support performance and load testing and resolve identified bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve defects and production issues (3rd-level support) with root-cause analysis.
- Ensure secure development practices : input validation, output encoding, parameterized queries, no hardcoded credentials or secrets, secrets from a managed store, least-privilege access, no sensitive data in logs.
- Guide and review the work of other developers; enforce coding and documentation standards defined by the architect.
- Produce technical documentation, configuration guides and handover material; deliver knowledge transfer sessions.
Required Skills :
- Strong hands-on development on OpenText Content Server, including OScript/module development, WebReports and LiveReports.
- Smart UI customization : widget development, perspectives and perspective rules, JavaScript/HTML/CSS front-end skills.
- OpenText Archive Center : configuration, document pipelines, archiving interfaces and troubleshooting.
- OpenText Intelligent Viewing : integration and configuration for rendition, viewing, annotation and redaction.
- OpenText Directory Services (OTDS) : configuration, synchronization, SSO and API-based automation.
- API development and integration : REST/JSON, SOAP/CWS, authentication mechanisms (OAuth2/OIDC, SAML, tokens).
- Scripting and general programming (e.g. JavaScript, Java, Python, PowerShell/Bash) for automation, tooling and migration.
- Version control (Git), code review practice, and CI/CD pipeline usage.
- Testing practice : unit and integration testing, defect management, performance troubleshooting.
- Secure coding practices and awareness of OWASP-style vulnerability classes.
- Experience with OpenText Cloud (CSP) deployments of the in-scope products.
- Containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and Helm-based deployments.
- Databases and SQL tuning (SQL Server/PostgreSQL) for ECM workloads.
- Content/archive migration tooling and large-scale data reconciliation.
- Search and indexing configuration and optimization.
Soft Skills :
- Hands-on, delivery-focused and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across application, integration and infrastructure layers.
