Lead Database Developer - MySQL

Description :

We are looking for an experienced MySQL Database Developer - Lead with strong exposure to the BFSI domain. The ideal candidate will lead database development initiatives, ensure high availability and performance of MySQL systems, and work closely with application, infrastructure, and business teams to support mission-critical financial systems.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, optimization, and maintenance of MySQL databases.

- Architect and manage high-availability, high-performance, and scalable MySQL solutions.

- Handle database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and capacity planning.

- Ensure data security, integrity, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery mechanisms.

- Work closely with application teams for database design, schema changes, and release support.

- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior DB developers/DBAs.

- Support production environments, troubleshoot complex database issues, and perform root cause analysis.

- Implement and enforce best practices, coding standards, and documentation.

- Coordinate with stakeholders in BFSI compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements :

- 10 - 12 years of hands-on experience in MySQL database development and administration.

- Strong expertise in MySQL architecture, replication, partitioning, clustering, and failover.

- Proven experience in the BFSI domain (banking, financial services, payments, insurance, etc. ).

- Excellent knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, and query optimization.

- Experience with performance monitoring tools and database tuning.

- Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix environments.

- Knowledge of data security, encryption, and access control in financial systems.

- Exposure to cloud-based MySQL (AWS RDS / Aurora or similar) is a plus.

- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
