Job Description

Key Responsibilities :

- Team Leadership : Lead and mentor a team of 5 DBAs, ensuring efficient operations and knowledge sharing.

- Greenplum Administration : Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Greenplum V6.x databases.

- Performance Optimization : Monitor and optimize Greenplum performance, addressing issues like data skew and vacuum analysis.

- Troubleshooting : Identify and resolve complex database issues, including performance bottlenecks and data corruption.

- Backup and Recovery : Implement and manage robust backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.

- Security and Compliance : Maintain database security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Automation : Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline database tasks and reduce manual effort.

- Collaboration : Work closely with development, infrastructure, and other teams to ensure smooth database operations.

- Shift Management : Oversee shift management and ensure 24/7 database availability.


Required Skills and Experience :


- Greenplum Expertise : 7-12 years of hands-on experience with Greenplum Database V6.x, including installation, configuration, and administration.

- Database Skills : Strong understanding of PostgreSQL, Cloudera, and Oracle databases.

- Linux Proficiency : In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, including shell scripting.

- Problem-Solving : Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve database issues.

- Automation : Experience with automation tools to streamline database tasks.

- Leadership : Strong leadership skills to manage and mentor a team of DBAs.

- Communication : Effective communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders
