Role Overview :

We are looking for a highly experienced Lead Data Engineer with strong hands-on expertise across SQL, Azure Databricks, and Power BI. The ideal candidate should be equally strong in data engineering and BI/analytics, with the ability to lead technical delivery, design scalable data solutions, and work closely with business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of end-to-end data engineering and analytics solutions.

- Develop scalable data pipelines and transformation frameworks using Azure Databricks.

- Write complex and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, data transformations, and performance-tuned solutions.

- Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, semantic models, and data visualizations.

- Build and optimize data models to support enterprise reporting and analytics.

- Work extensively with Azure data services and Databricks for ingestion, processing, transformation, and data management.

- Lead technical discussions, solution design, code reviews, and best-practice implementation.

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, analysts, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

- Troubleshoot performance, data quality, and pipeline issues and drive continuous optimization.

- Mentor junior and mid-level data engineers and provide technical leadership.

Must-Have Skills :

- 9 - 15 years of overall experience in Data Engineering / BI / Analytics.

- Very strong hands-on expertise in SQL.

- Very strong experience with Azure Databricks.

- Very strong Power BI expertise, including dashboard development, data modelling, DAX, and performance optimization.

- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data modelling, and data pipelines.

- Experience working with Azure data ecosystem.

- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

- Proven experience in leading technical teams/projects.

Technical Skills :

- Primary: SQL | Azure Databricks | Power BI

- Secondary: Azure Data Services | ETL/ELT | Data Warehousing | Data Modelling | DAX | Data Pipelines | Performance Optimization

Ideal Candidate :

The ideal candidate should be equally strong in Data Engineering and Power BI, rather than being primarily a BI developer or purely a data engineer. Strong hands-on technical expertise in SQL + Azure Databricks + Power BI is mandatory.
