About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Lead Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python and AWS, along with proven experience in building cloud-native and distributed applications.

This role involves hands-on technical leadership, architecture ownership, and collaboration with engineering and product teams to build reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend applications and services using Python.

- Own backend architecture and make technical decisions around scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

- Design and develop robust APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.

- Architect and implement solutions using AWS cloud services.

- Build and optimize serverless architectures using AWS Lambda.

- Design efficient data models and highly scalable data solutions using DynamoDB.

- Evaluate and integrate Amazon Bedrock and AI capabilities into backend products where applicable.

- Establish effective monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability using Amazon CloudWatch.

- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using AWS CloudFormation.

- Drive best practices around code quality, system design, security, scalability, and performance.

- Identify and resolve complex production, performance, and reliability issues.

- Lead technical discussions, architecture reviews, and design sessions.

- Conduct code reviews and establish engineering standards and development practices.

- Mentor and guide software engineers, fostering technical excellence within the team.

- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Contribute to technical roadmaps and continuously evaluate emerging technologies and engineering practices.

Required Skills:

- 7+ years of experience in backend software development or a related engineering role.

- Strong hands-on expertise in Python.

- Proven experience designing and building scalable backend systems, APIs, and microservices.

- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.

- Strong understanding of cloud-native, serverless, and distributed system architectures.

- Experience with system design, scalability, performance optimization, and reliability engineering.

- Experience with production systems, monitoring, debugging, and incident resolution.

- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and clean code principles.

- Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical leadership.

- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.

Education:

- B. Tech / B. E. in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering discipline.
