Lead Backend Developer - Microservices Architecture

About the Role :

We are seeking a Lead Backend Developer to drive the development of scalable Spring Boot-based microservices for a banking workflow platform hosted on AWS Cloud.

This role requires strong hands-on coding expertise along with the ability to mentor developers, build high-performance backend services, and implement BFF (Backend for Frontend) microservices that support modern headless architectures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain Spring Boot microservices for enterprise applications.

- Build and manage BFF microservices to :

- Translate frontend requests

- Aggregate data from multiple backend services

- Optimize response structures for frontend applications

- Implement RESTful APIs following industry best practices.

- Design and implement caching strategies (Redis / in-memory caching) to improve system performance.

- Integrate backend services with BPM / Workflow engines.

- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and highly performant.

- Collaborate with solution architects to ensure alignment with architecture standards.

- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and mentor junior developers.

- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize backend services.

Required Skills & Experience :

- Spring Boot

- Microservices architecture

Hands-on experience with :

- BFF (Backend for Frontend) pattern

- API aggregation and transformation

- Caching (Redis / in-memory caching)

- Deploying services on AWS Cloud

Good understanding of :

- RESTful API design principles

- Security frameworks (JWT, OAuth2)

- Backend service scalability and performance optimization

Preferred :

- Experience in banking or financial services domain

- Experience working with enterprise-scale systems

Soft Skills :

- Ability to lead and mentor development teams

- Problem-solving and ownership mindset
