Designation : Lead AI Engineer - Data Science
Location : Chennai (Hybrid) (3 days in office)
About the Role :
We are hiring a senior AI/ML engineer to join a cutting-edge semiconductor technology team working on next-generation process control and defect inspection systems. If you love hard problems at the intersection of AI, imaging, and manufacturing, this is built for you.
What You'll Work On :
- Design and build production-grade ML/DL pipelines for defect detection and process control in semiconductor manufacturing
- Develop and deploy LLM-powered systems including RAG pipelines, prompt engineering, and agentic AI workflows
- Work with high-dimensional image and sensor data using CNNs, Transformers, and classical ML
- Build and optimize vector search systems using FAISS, Milvus, or similar
- Contribute to full-stack AI solutions from prototyping to deployment
- Strong Python - data structures, algorithms, NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn
- Deep expertise in PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras
- CNNs, RNNs, LSTMs, Transformers, Attention - hands-on, not just theoretical
- LLMs and RAG - Hugging Face, vector databases, function/tool calling, JSON schema outputs
- Agentic AI experience is non-negotiable - building multi-step autonomous AI agents
- NLP experience - tokenization, embeddings, fine-tuning
- SQL, Git, Docker basics
Qualifications :
- Degree Experience Required
- PhD 6+ years of relevant AI/ML experience
- M.Tech / M.S. 8+ years of relevant experience
- B.Tech / B.E. 10+ years of relevant experience
Preferred institutions : IITs, IISc, IIITs, NITs, BITS Pilani, or Tier 1/2 regional engineering colleges.
Target Background :
- Prior experience in a product company, semiconductor, hardware, or engineering manufacturing domain is a strong requirement
- Candidates from engineering product companies will be prioritized
Nice to Have :
- Image processing and computer vision experience
- Familiarity with wafer/fab process control domains
- Experience with ensemble methods (XGBoost, LightGBM) and model optimization
