Job Title : Middleware Administrator (L3 Support)

Location : Bangalore

Experience : 10 12 Years

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Middleware Administrator (L3 Support) to provide advanced administration, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise middleware platforms. The role involves end-to-end management of middleware infrastructure, high-availability setup, performance tuning, and incident resolution. The candidate will act as a technical SME, ensuring business-critical applications run seamlessly on middleware environments.

Key Responsibilities :

Middleware Administration & Support :

- Provide L3-level support for middleware platforms such as IBM WebSphere, JBoss, WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, IIS, and MQ.

- Handle complex incidents, root cause analysis, and permanent fixes for production issues.

- Perform proactive monitoring, patching, and upgrades to maintain system stability.

Configuration & Deployment :

- Manage installation, configuration, and clustering of middleware servers.

- Support deployments in multi-tier architectures and integrate with backend databases and front-end applications.

- Automate routine tasks using shell scripts, Python, or Ansible.

Performance & Optimization :

- Perform tuning of JVMs, connection pools, thread management, garbage collection, and memory optimization.

- Configure and troubleshoot load balancers, SSL certificates, and security modules.

- Conduct capacity planning and high-availability (HA/DR) strategy implementations.

Security & Compliance :

- Implement middleware security policies, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and certificates.

- Ensure systems are compliant with enterprise security, regulatory, and audit standards.

Incident & Change Management :

- Act as an SME for critical incident resolution (P1/P2 issues).

- Support release management, patch deployments, and migrations across environments.

- Work closely with L1/L2 teams, providing mentorship and knowledge transfer.

Collaboration & Documentation :

- Partner with application teams, DBAs, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integrations.

- Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge base documents.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- 10-12 years of hands-on experience in Middleware Administration with L3-level expertise.

- Strong proficiency in at least two middleware platforms :

1. IBM WebSphere Application Server

2. Red Hat JBoss EAP/Wildfly

3. Oracle WebLogic Server

4. Apache Tomcat / IIS

5. IBM MQ / RabbitMQ / ActiveMQ

- Expertise in JVM tuning, performance optimization, clustering, and high-availability configurations.

- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting (Shell, Python, or Ansible).

- Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and configuration management tools.

- Experience with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

- Strong understanding of networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, SSL, firewalls, load balancing).

- Knowledge of cloud-based middleware deployments (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.

- Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).
