Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and experienced L2 Support Engineer to join our IT operations team in Chennai.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in server and network support, web/app server troubleshooting (Apache, NGINX, IIS, Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss), cloud services, scripting, and ITSM tools like ServiceNow or BMC Remedy.


Key Responsibilities :


- Provide L2 support for network, server, and cloud infrastructure issues.

- Perform installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of web servers (Apache, NGINX, IIS) and application servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss).

- Monitor and manage system and application performance across multiple environments.

- Handle incidents, service requests, and changes using ITSM tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and escalations.

- Execute server patching, maintenance, and upgrade tasks.

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.


- Generate system performance and health reports and assist with root cause analysis.

- Ensure compliance with IT policies, standards, and security guidelines.


Required Skills & Qualifications :


- 512 years of experience in L2 IT Support, Infrastructure Management, or Technical Operations.

- Strong expertise in web servers (Apache, NGINX, IIS) and app servers (Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss).

- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancers, and firewalls.

- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) basic provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for automation and troubleshooting.

- Proficiency in ITSM tools like ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, or equivalent.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

- Willingness to work in shifts or on-call rotation if required.


Preferred Qualifications :


- Relevant certifications: AWS/Azure Fundamentals, RHCE, ITIL v4, or similar.

- Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus/Grafana.

- Basic knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
