L2 HPE ProLiant Server Engineer

Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and administer server operating systems, enterprise applications, and middleware services (Apache, Tomcat, WebSphere, IBM MQ).

- Manage and troubleshoot HPE ProLiant servers, ensuring optimal compute performance and system reliability.

- Provide L3-level technical support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for production environments.

- Participate in infrastructure standardization and contribute to the overall architecture roadmap.

- Collaborate on technical design, including documentation of requirements, configurations, and design changes.

- Perform capacity planning, upgrades, and environment optimization for middleware and server platforms.

- Ensure adherence to corporate policies, including security and change control procedures.

- Coordinate with engineering teams, vendors, and support partners for design issues, upgrades, and incident resolution.

- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation of middleware and compute environments.

- Implement automation and DevOps practices for configuration management and deployment efficiency.

Mandatory Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience with IBM MQ, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Apache, and Tomcat.

- In-depth understanding of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows operating systems.

- Experience in HPE ProLiant server management, VMware virtualization, and compute infrastructure.

- Proficiency in Shell scripting and Perl scripting.

- Good understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, load balancers, routing).

- Ability to handle production environment troubleshooting, including high-availability and performance tuning scenarios.

- Experience in documentation, capacity planning, and system design.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Familiarity with Nginx, IIS, Oracle WebLogic, Oracle HTTP Server.

- Knowledge of DevOps tools and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform).

- Exposure to cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.

- Experience with middleware and infrastructure monitoring tools.

- Strong analytical, communication, and coordination skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
