L2 MS SQL Server DB Support Engineer

Location : Gurgaon (Work from Office)

Overview :

The ideal candidate will combine excellence in both the operational day-to-day execution as well as project implementation work. The resource will manage the MS SQL DB Infra of DC, DR and Cloud DB.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Manage On-premises and Cloud DB Support

- Monitor DB health and performance

- DB creation and manage DB permission

- Manage SQL Server databases maintenance tasks like DBCC Check DB, Rebuild Indexes, Update Stats

- Installation of SQL Server version 2016/2017/2019/2022.

- Perform SQL Server Hardening as per best practice.

- Perform SQL Server patching on Standalone and Cluster Servers.

- Manage SQL DB log file size.

- Ability to prepare database activity plan and execute.

- Ability to Troubleshoot DB issue and provide solution.

- Manage DB backups and restores.

- Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems.

- Implementation of Alert configuration to get notification for any issue.

- Configure and manage SSRS, SSIS and SSAS.

- Monitor daily backup activity and reporting to proactively avoid issues and troubleshoot missed and failed backup jobs.

- Perform restores for various type of data in case of data loss as per business requirement.

- Manage Business Continuance in relation to Disaster Recovery.

- Provide assistance on SOP documentation at all levels of the projects/changes/support.

- Assess and implement best practices in line with change management process.

- Ability to handle escalated tickets and provide solution/RCA in time.

- Ability to explore automation of current tasks and drive it

Experience :

- 4+ Years of Experience in handling .

- Experience on Installation of SQL Server version 2016/2017/2019/2022.

- Experience on configure and manage SQL Server High Availability (HA) setup like SQL Cluster, AlwaysOn with SQL Version 2016/2017/2019.

- Experience on configure Disaster Recovery (DR) for SQL Server DB via Log Shipping

- Experience on migration and upgradation of SQL Server Database.

- Experience in managing SQL Server Security.

- Experience on configure Database mirroring and Replication.

- Experience in performance tunning.

- Manage Cloud DB.

- Basic knowledge on MySQL and PostgreSQL

Qualification :

- Bachelor or higher degree in one of these fields.

- BE/B.TECH/MCA/BCA

- MS SQL Server certifications a plus
