L2 Compute Hardware Engineer - Server Administration

Key Responsibilities :

- Troubleshoot and resolve compute hardware issues at L2 level with minimal downtime.

- Install, administer, and maintain server hardware infrastructure.

- Diagnose performance-related issues and restore system integrity after outages.

- Handle user-submitted tickets related to compute hardware and infrastructure.

- Monitor system health and resource usage using monitoring/queuing software.

- Apply system firmware and software patches as required.

- Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for issue resolution and troubleshooting.

- Collaborate with peers to resolve complex technical challenges.

- Participate in incident, change, and problem management, including Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

Technical Skills & Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in compute hardware troubleshooting (L2).

- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco UCS series (UCS Manager).

- Expertise in server hardware administration and troubleshooting.

- Experience with HPE Server Hardware and multi-node clustered setups.

- Proficiency in OS-level administration (VMware, Linux, Windows).

- Strong knowledge of high-speed networking (InfiniBand, 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet).

- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Nagios, OpsRamp.

- Experience troubleshooting ESXi and vCenter performance issues.

- Basic understanding of server storage connectivity and fault tolerance.

- Good to have knowledge of Nimble, NetApp, Pure, Cloudian, or Data Protect cluster solutions.

Preferred Skills :

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Ability to document processes and contribute to knowledge management.

- Exposure to cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.

Education :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

- Relevant certifications (Cisco UCS, VMware, HPE) are a plus
