L1 VMware Virtualization Engineer - Ticketing System

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and administer VMware virtualization environments.

- Perform daily health checks, monitor system performance, and escalate issues to L2/L3 when required.

- Diagnose and resolve L1-level issues related to VMware, vCenter, and ESXi.

- Manage user-submitted tickets, ensuring timely resolution and accurate documentation.

- Apply patches and updates to vCenter, ESXi, and virtualization components.

- Support multi-node clustered setups and assist in vSAN administration.

- Monitor resource usage using tools such as Grafana, Nagios, or OpsRamp.

- Collaborate with peer teams to resolve technical challenges and share knowledge.

- Create and maintain knowledge base documentation for troubleshooting and best practices.

- Ensure compliance with ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management).

- Provide high-quality support with a customer-first attitude, ensuring prompt communication and case resolution.

Technical Skills :

- Strong understanding of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSwitches.

- Hands-on experience with vSAN administration.

- Basic troubleshooting of VMware environment issues.

- Experience with server hardware administration (Linux, Windows).

- Knowledge of vCenter and ESXi patching.

- Familiarity with server storage connectivity basics.

- Experience monitoring environments with Grafana, Nagios, OpsRamp.

- Exposure to Incident, Change, and Problem management processes.
