L1 SQL Database Administrator

Job Opening : SQL Database Administrator (L1)

Location : Mumbai (Onsite Contract)

Experience Requirement : Minimum Total Experience : 34 years

Qualification : Graduation (Computer Science, IT, or related discipline preferred)

We are looking for a Database SQL Administrator (L1) for a contractual role based in Mumbai (onsite). The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting SQL Server environments, ensuring smooth operations and assisting in routine DBA activities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Monitor SQL Server health and performance.

- Perform database maintenance tasks (backups, restores, indexing).

- Carry out database installation, configuration, and patching.

- Respond to basic support tickets related to database issues.

- Monitor scheduled jobs and troubleshoot failures.

- Escalate issues to L2/L3 DBAs when necessary.

- Maintain documentation of database configurations and support procedures.

- Provide on-call support under supervision.

- Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) drills.

- Perform database refresh activities across environments.

- Assist in Always On configuration & maintenance.

- Assist in Log Shipping configuration & maintenance.

- Manage database security (user logins and access permissions).

Required Skills (Must Have) :

- Strong knowledge of MS SQL Server administration.

- Hands-on experience in database backups, restores, and indexing.

- Experience with job monitoring and troubleshooting.

- Understanding of Always On, Log Shipping, and DR drills.

- Basic knowledge of database security and user management.

Nice to Have :

- Exposure to automation tools or scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL).

- Knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools.

- Familiarity with ticketing systems and ITIL processes.
