L1 Linux Administrator - AIX

Job Title : L1 Linux Administrator

Location : Mumbai, India (Preference for candidates from Navi Mumbai and Central Line)

Job Type : Full-Time

Job Overview :

We are looking for a dedicated and proactive L1 Linux Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing first-level support for Linux/AIX servers, monitoring system performance, performing routine administration tasks, and escalating complex issues to higher support tiers.

Key Responsibilities :

- Install and configure RHEL 8/9 operating systems.

- Manage Veritas LVM and file systems.

- Handle user and group management activities.

- Perform server hardening and apply OS patches.

- Support vulnerability assessment (VA) closures.

- Monitor system performance and availability using standard tools.

- Perform basic troubleshooting of hardware, OS, and application-level issues.

- Respond to alerts, incidents, and service requests within defined SLAs.

- Escalate unresolved or complex issues to L2/L3 teams with complete documentation.

- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for system issues and maintenance.

Requirements :

- 1-2 years of experience in Linux system administration or IT infrastructure support.

- Hands-on experience with RHEL 8/9, Veritas LVM, and basic networking.

- Strong knowledge of user, group, and file system management.

- Familiarity with security hardening, patching, and basic compliance tasks.

- Ability to follow SOPs, escalate as needed, and maintain incident documentation.

- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications :

- RHCE or RHCA certification strongly preferred.

- Exposure to AIX environments will be an added advantage.

- Experience working in ITIL-based support environments.
