Job Title : Kubernetes Engineer (Storage & CSI Integration)
Location : Bangalore
Experience : 4-7 Years
Key Responsibilities :
Kubernetes Platform Engineering :
- Install, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters (on-premises and/or cloud)
- Perform cluster upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management
- Build and maintain highly available and scalable Kubernetes environments
- Implement and manage Kubernetes Operators and Custom Resource Definitions (CRDs)
- Package and deploy applications using Helm charts
Storage & CSI Integration :
- Design and implement Container Storage Interface (CSI) integrations in Kubernetes
- Work with enterprise storage solutions such as :
1. PortWorx (preferred)
2. Ceph
3. NetApp
- Configure and manage persistent volumes (PV), persistent volume claims (PVC), and storage classes
- Ensure data availability, backup, disaster recovery, and performance tuning
- Troubleshoot storage-related issues across distributed environments
Automation & Configuration Management :
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and deployments using :
1. Ansible
2. Puppet
- Develop reusable automation scripts and tools using Python
- Improve operational efficiency through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
Observability & Monitoring :
- Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions for Kubernetes clusters
- Set up metrics collection, alerting, and dashboards using tools like :
1. Prometheus
2. Grafana
3. ELK / EFK stack
- Ensure system reliability through proactive monitoring and incident response
Performance & Reliability :
- Analyze and optimize cluster performance, resource utilization, and storage efficiency
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement preventive measures
- Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery readiness
Collaboration & DevOps Practices :
- Work closely with DevOps, SRE, Cloud, and Development teams
- Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies
- Contribute to best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications :
- 4-7 years of experience in Kubernetes / DevOps / Platform Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with :
1. Kubernetes cluster setup, upgrades, and administration
2. Kubernetes Operators, Helm charts
3. Observability, monitoring, and logging
- Proven experience in CSI-based storage integration
- Preferred : PortWorx
- Alternatives : Ceph, NetApp
- Strong Python programming skills
- Experience with Ansible and/or Puppet
- Good understanding of Linux systems and networking fundamentals
Good to Have Skills :
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with container runtimes (Docker, containerd)
- Knowledge of microservices architecture
- Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.)
