Role Summary :

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer (SDE-3) with 4-6 years of experience, specializing in backend-heavy development. As an SDE-3, you will be responsible for architecting, building, and scaling backend systems that support Kapiva's Ecommerce and Health Tech platforms. You will mentor junior engineers, set coding best practices, and ensure system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead design and development of backend-heavy features and platforms while contributing to frontend integration and UI flows.

- Architect scalable microservices, APIs, and data systems.

- Ensure reliability, performance, and security of backend systems.

- Work on complex business domains like payments, personalization, wellness journeys, and medical data workflows.

- Mentor SDE-1 and SDE-2 engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical guidance.

- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and QA to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

- Conduct system design reviews, evaluate new technologies, and influence architectural direction.

- Optimize database queries, caching, and service performance.

- Drive adoption of best practices in coding, architecture, and DevOps.

- Take ownership of end-to-end delivery, from design to production rollout and monitoring.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 4-6 years of professional software development experience with strong backend focus.

- Deep expertise in backend technologies (Node.js/Java/Python) and microservices architecture.

- Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), data modeling, and query optimization.

- Proven experience designing and scaling RESTful APIs (GraphQL experience is a plus).

- Hands-on experience with frontend frameworks (React/Next.js) and ability to collaborate on UI integration.

- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).

- Strong debugging and optimization skills in distributed systems.

- Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.

- Solid grasp of Agile/Scrum development practices.

Bonus Points :

- Domain experience in Ecommerce (checkout, payments, subscriptions, promotions, personalization) or Health Tech (consultations, medical workflows, patient data systems).

- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, streaming systems).

- Knowledge of security and compliance in healthcare data systems (HIPAA, GDPR awareness).

- Exposure to performance engineering and high-scale system tuning.

- Contributions to building internal developer platforms or productivity tools.
