Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Kafka + Service Mesh Engineer to work onsite for a leading banking client. The role involves upgrading Service Mesh, migrating Kafka clusters, managing deployments on OpenShift, and ensuring secure, seamless integration in a restricted environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Upgrade Service Mesh from version 2.0 to 3.0 on production clusters.

- Migrate Kafka from Mirror Maker & Zookeeper to KRaft architecture.

- Deploy, configure, and manage Kafka and Service Mesh on OpenShift (OCP) environments.

- Ensure seamless integration between Kafka, Service Mesh, and microservices hosted on OpenShift.

- Collaborate with the banks IT and development teams for production rollouts.

- Perform troubleshooting, optimization, and security hardening within a highly restricted environment.

Required Skills & Experience :

5 to 8 years of overall IT experience with proven expertise in :

- Kafka (upgrades, Mirror Maker, Zookeeper to KRaft migration)

- Service Mesh (hands-on upgrade experience with Istio/Red Hat Service Mesh 3.0 is mandatory)

- Strong, hands-on experience with OpenShift (OCP)

- Solid understanding of microservices communication patterns and hybrid cloud/on-prem architectures

- Prior experience in banking or secure environment projects preferred

- Ability to work onsite with limited external internet access
