Description :
- Script Development : Assist in writing, executing, and maintaining basic automated test scripts using established frameworks and tools like Selenium, Cypress, or similar.
- Test Execution : Execute automated test suites on various environments and configurations, and perform manual testing when necessary to validate features and confirm fixes.
- Defect Management : Accurately identify, document, and track software defects (bugs) using a bug tracking system (e.g., Jira), and work with the development team to ensure timely resolution.
- Test Documentation : Help create and update test plans, test cases, and test data for both manual and automated testing efforts.
- Reporting : Generate basic reports on test execution status, test coverage, and defect metrics.
- Collaboration : Participate in sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, actively contributing to a culture of quality.
- Framework Contribution : Learn to assist senior testers in maintaining and enhancing the existing automation framework structure.
Required Key Skills and Competencies :
- Test Automation Tools : Basic knowledge of and some hands-on exposure to popular test automation tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright).
- Programming/Scripting : Familiarity with at least one relevant scripting or programming language (Java, Python, or JavaScript) for writing test scripts.
- Testing Fundamentals : Clear understanding of software testing concepts, methodologies, and the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC).
- Version Control : Basic familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
- Databases : Conceptual understanding of databases (e.g., SQL) and the ability to write basic queries to validate data.
- Communication : Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively articulate issues and collaborate with team members.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Qualifications and Experience :
- Education : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience : 0 to 2 years of relevant experience.
- Internship/Project Experience : Practical experience gained through a relevant internship, academic projects, or boot camps in software testing or QA is a significant plus.
- Agile : Exposure to or understanding of the Agile/Scrum development methodology is beneficial
