Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Jira Administrator & Developer to join our growing team. This role is crucial for optimizing our Atlassian Jira and Confluence instances, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of our development, operations, and business teams. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of administrative expertise, technical development skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and system improvement. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Jira and Confluence support, from configuration and customization to developing advanced automations, integrations, and reports.

Key Responsibilities :

Jira & Confluence Administration :

- System Configuration : Administer, configure, and maintain Atlassian Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence instances (Server/Data Center/Cloud environments).

- User & Group Management : Manage users, groups, and permissions schemes to ensure appropriate access and security across projects.

- Workflow Management : Design, implement, and maintain complex Jira workflows, screen schemes, field configurations, and issue type schemes.

- Project Setup & Support : Create and manage projects, administer project roles, and provide ongoing support to project teams.

- Performance & Health Monitoring : Monitor system performance, health, and availability, troubleshoot issues, and implement preventative measures.

- Backup & Recovery : Ensure regular backups are performed and lead disaster recovery efforts if necessary.

- Upgrade Management : Plan, test, and execute upgrades of Atlassian applications and plugins with minimal downtime.

Jira Development & Customization :

- Automation : Develop and implement advanced automations using ScriptRunner (Groovy scripts), Jira Automation (formerly Automation for Jira), and other scripting tools to streamline processes.

- Plugin & Add-on Management : Evaluate, install, configure, and manage Jira and Confluence plugins and add-ons to extend functionality.

- Integrations : Design, develop, and maintain integrations between Jira/Confluence and other internal and external systems (e.g., CI/CD tools, monitoring systems, CRM) using REST APIs and webhooks.

- Custom Development : Write custom Groovy scripts, JQL functions, listeners, and webhooks to meet specific business requirements.

- Reporting & Dashboards : Create and optimize complex Jira dashboards, reports, and JQL queries to provide valuable insights to stakeholders.

- Data Migration : Assist with data migration efforts between Jira instances or other project management tools as needed.

Support & Collaboration :

- Technical Support : Provide expert-level support to end-users, troubleshooting complex issues related to Jira and Confluence functionality, permissions, and integrations.

- Documentation : Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, integrations, and best practices.

- Training : Develop and deliver training sessions to users on Jira and Confluence features and best practices.

- Collaboration : Work closely with product owners, scrum masters, developers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, provide solutions, and ensure the Atlassian suite aligns with organizational goals.

Qualifications :

Required Skills & Experience :

- Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Jira Administrator and/or Developer in a complex environment.

- Atlassian Expertise : In-depth knowledge of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence administration and configuration.

- Scripting : Strong proficiency in Groovy scripting for ScriptRunner, including custom listeners, behaviours, and REST endpoints.

- API Knowledge : Solid understanding and experience with Jira REST APIs for integrations and automation.

- Querying : Advanced JQL skills for complex reporting and data analysis.

- Database : Experience with SQL for database querying related to Jira data.

- Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.

- Communication : Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.

- Methodology : Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications : Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (ACP-JA) or other relevant Atlassian certifications.

- Other Atlassian Tools : Experience with other Atlassian products like Bitbucket, Bamboo, Opsgenie, or Portfolio for Jira (Advanced Roadmaps).

- Version Control : Experience with Git and integration with Jira.

- Cloud Platforms : Experience with Jira/Confluence Cloud migrations or administration.

- Development Languages : Additional scripting or programming language experience (e.g., Python, Java).

- ITSM Frameworks : Knowledge of ITIL or other ITSM frameworks.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
