Job Summary :


The Jira Administrator is responsible for the configuration, customization, maintenance, and support of the Jira platform within the organization. This role ensures Jira aligns with business processes, supports project management needs, and integrates effectively with other tools in the Atlassian ecosystem and third-party systems.


Key Responsibilities :


System Administration & Configuration :


- Administer and maintain Jira (Cloud or Data Center environments).


- Configure projects, workflows, issue types, screens, custom fields, and permission schemes.


- Manage user accounts, groups, roles, and access controls.


- Perform system upgrades, patches, and plugin management.


Workflow & Process Optimization :


- Design and implement custom workflows and automation rules.


- Translate business requirements into Jira configurations.


- Improve system efficiency and usability across teams (Agile, DevOps, ITSM, etc.).


Integration & Automation :


- Integrate Jira with tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, ServiceNow, CI/CD pipelines, and other enterprise systems.


- Implement automation using Jira Automation or scripting tools (e.g., ScriptRunner).


- Maintain APIs and webhook configurations.


Reporting & Dashboarding :


- Develop and maintain dashboards and advanced reports.


- Support KPI tracking and metrics reporting for stakeholders.


- Ensure data accuracy and integrity.


User Support & Training :


- Provide Tier 2/3 support for Jira-related issues.


- Train users and create documentation and best practices guides.


- Collaborate with project managers, product owners, and engineering teams.


Governance & Compliance :


- Establish Jira governance standards and naming conventions.


- Ensure compliance with security and data policies.


- Perform audits and system health checks.


Required Qualifications :


- Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).


- 3+ years of experience administering Jira.


- Strong knowledge of Jira configuration, workflows, and permission schemes.


- Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).


- Basic understanding of SQL, REST APIs, and scripting (Groovy or similar).


- Experience in system integrations and automation.
