As a Tech Lead at JFrog, you will...
- Architect Multi-Tenant Systems : Lead the design and evolution of our microservices to support high-scale multi-tenancy, ensuring robust data isolation and security across customer environments.
- Drive AI-Augmented Engineering : Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development tools (e.g., LLMs, advanced coding assistants) within the team to accelerate prototyping, code generation, and test coverage safely and ethically.
- Optimize Resource Allocation : Implement intelligent strategies to handle "noisy neighbor" scenarios, ensuring fair resource distribution through rate limiting, throttling, and predictive scaling.
- Own the Technical Roadmap : Define the architectural vision for the Packages team, balancing new feature delivery with long-term scalability and tech debt reduction.
- Elevate Observability with AI : Integrate AI-driven monitoring and anomaly detection tools to proactively identify system bottlenecks, predict failures, and minimize MTTR (Mean Time to Resolution) in production.
- Lead by Example & Mentor : Write high-performance code, conduct rigorous code reviews, and guide senior and junior engineers in distributed systems best practices.
- Cross-Team Collaboration : Partner with Product, Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure our microservices architecture aligns with broader platform goals.
To be a Tech Lead at JFrog, you need...
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in SaaS-based architectures and technical leadership.
- Expertise in Multi-Tenancy : Deep understanding of tenant isolation patterns (Silo, Bridge, and Pool models) at both the application and database layers.
- Mastery of Microservices : Proven track record of building distributed systems using Java (Spring Boot), focusing on inter-service communication, event-driven patterns, and API Gateway management.
- An AI-Forward Mindset : Passion for and experience in leveraging AI tools to optimize the software development lifecycle (SDLC), automate code refactoring, and improve team velocity.
- Data Strategy : Advanced knowledge of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, specifically regarding partitioning, sharding, and schema evolution in a multi-tenant context.
- Cloud & DevOps Fluency : Expert-level experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), and Helm, with a focus on managing containerized microservices at scale.
- Distributed Systems Fundamentals : Strong grasp of consensus algorithms, distributed caching (Redis), and message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ).
- Leadership & Communication : Ability to articulate complex technical trade-offs to stakeholders, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of continuous technical innovation.
