We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer with expertise in modern Java technologies and legacy COBOL systems. The ideal candidate will play a key role in enterprise application development, legacy modernization, and integration initiatives, supporting the transition from mainframe applications to modern cloud-ready architectures.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Java and Spring technologies.

- Support, enhance, and troubleshoot legacy COBOL applications running on IBM mainframe environments.

- Participate in application modernization initiatives by migrating COBOL-based systems to Java and microservices architectures.

- Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices for seamless integration with legacy and enterprise systems.

- Perform impact analysis, debugging, root cause analysis, and performance optimization across Java and COBOL applications.

- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, QA teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

- Develop technical specifications, system documentation, and implementation plans.

- Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code following software engineering best practices.

- Participate in code reviews, testing, production deployments, and application support activities.

- Work in Agile/Scrum teams and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills :

- 6-10 years of software development experience.

- Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in Java development.

- Minimum 3 years of experience with Spring Boot and the Spring Framework ecosystem.

- Minimum 2 years of experience working with COBOL and IBM Mainframe technologies.

- Strong expertise in Java 8/11/17, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and Microservices.

- Experience with Hibernate/JPA, Maven or Gradle, JUnit, and Git.

- Hands-on experience with COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, and IBM Mainframe environments.

- Experience in batch processing, application debugging, and performance tuning.

- Strong understanding of relational databases, enterprise application architecture, and system integration.

- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.

- Experience in enterprise application modernization and legacy migration projects.

Education (Mandatory) :

- Full-time B.E./B.Tech, MCA, M.Tech, MS, or M.Sc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
