Responsibilities:

- Architecture and System Design: Design and implement highly scalable, reliable, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

- Backend Development: Write clean, well-tested, and efficient code using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate/JPA.

- Database Management: Optimise complex database queries, schema designs, and data models for high performance and scalability.

- API Design: Build and maintain secure, well-documented RESTful or GraphQL APIs.

- Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior engineers, participate in code reviews, and advocate for engineering best practices.

- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, frontend teams, and DevOps to deliver high-quality features from conception to deployment.

Requirements:

- Experience: 5 to 8 years of professional software development experience.

- Core Java: Deep understanding of Java (11+), multithreading, concurrency, and JVM internals.

- Frameworks: Hands-on expertise with the Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and Spring Data) and ORM frameworks like Hibernate.

- System Design: Proven experience with microservices architecture, system scalability, caching strategies (Redis/Memcached), and message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ).

- Databases: Strong proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and familiarity with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, DynamoDB).

- Tools: Proficient with Git, build tools (Maven/Gradle), and CI/CD pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

- Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

- Knowledge of reactive programming in Java.
