As a Java Backend Developer, you will design and build cloud-native micro-services that power enterprise healthcare applications. Using Java 11+, Spring Boot, and containerized deployments on OpenShift and AWS, you will convert complex requirements into scalable, high-performance REST APIs. You will partner with front-end engineers, DevOps, and U.S.-based teammates while owning code quality, testing, and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate user stories and use cases into robust micro-services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Containerize and deploy services on OpenShift / Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure (EKS, ECS, or EC2).
- Integrate with Kafka for event streaming; employ Redis (or equivalent) for caching strategies.
- Collaborate with on-shore developers and front-end teams to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality.
- Support and triage production and pre-production environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Write unit and integration tests using JUnit, Mockito, and automate builds via CI/CD pipelines(Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions).
- Conduct performance tuning and code reviews; identify bottlenecks and implement best-practice solutions.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies-backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand-ups-and document technical designs.
Required Qualifications :
- 6+ years of professional Java backend development with Spring Boot and micro-services.
- Strong expertise designing and consuming RESTful APIs; solid grasp of API security and performance tuning.
- Hands-on containerization skills with Docker and orchestration on OpenShift / Kubernetes.
- Experience publishing and consuming messages via Kafka.
- Proficiency with relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2) and advanced SQL.
- Knowledge of caching (Redis), multithreading, and concurrent programming patterns.
- Familiarity with CI/CD toolchains, Git workflows, and DevOps best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to write clean, testable code and implement automated test suites.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; comfortable collaborating across time zones.
Desired / Nice-to-Have :
- Exposure to AWS services-API Gateway, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.
- Front-end awareness of React or Node.js (helpful for collaboration).
- Working knowledge of Linux administration, networking basics, and infrastructure-as-code
.- Healthcare or pharmacy-benefit domain experience.
