Role Description :

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys working in a large, mature enterprise codebase and solving real-world operational problems. Success requires curiosity, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a complex environment. You'll work on software that supports corrugated manufacturing operations, including scheduling, production control, plant-floor interfaces, reporting, and system integrations.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Java Platform :

- Strong Core Java experience using modern language features (Java 17).

- Experience with multi-module Gradle builds.

- Solid understanding of Java EE technologies, including :

1. Servlets

2. EJB 3 (Session and Entity Beans)

3. JPA with Hibernate

4. Container-managed transactions (JTA)

2. Application Server & Deployment :

- Experience deploying and troubleshooting applications on Apache TomEE/OpenEJB.

- Familiarity with WAR/EAR packaging, data-source configuration, and container administration.

3. Data & Integration :

- Strong SQL Server skills, including :

1. SQL development and optimization

2. Database schema design and analysis

- Experience designing and consuming RESTful HTTP APIs.

- Working knowledge of JSON serialization libraries such as Jackson or Gson.

4. Development Environment :

- Windows-based development experience.

- Comfortable working in a Windows-based development environment (the team primarily uses Eclipse).

- Experience with PowerShell and Windows batch scripting for build, deployment, and operational tasks.

- Proficient with Git and GitHub workflows.

Skills & Qualifications :

- Experience in one or more of the following areas is a plus :

1. Reporting: BIRT 4.19

2. Desktop UI development with Java Swing and SwingX.

3. Experience designing manufacturing or industrial touchscreen user interfaces.

4. Familiarity with transport layers: TCP/IP, Serial

5. Testing with JUnit 4.

Nice to Have :

- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

- Ideal candidates combine engineering depth with governance awareness.

- Industry certifications preferred, such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or AWS Security Specialty.
