Java Backend Developer - Spring Boot/Hibernate

Job Summary :

We are seeking a talented and experienced Java Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable and robust backend systems using Java and Spring frameworks.

You will work closely with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product managers to develop RESTful APIs, integrate with databases, and deliver high-performance enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services using Java.

- Develop RESTful APIs to support front-end functionality and third-party integrations.

- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.

- Optimize backend systems for maximum performance, reliability, and scalability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

- Implement and maintain integration with relational and NoSQL databases.

- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and participate in code reviews.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs in backend systems.

- Ensure high code quality, maintainability, and adherence to development standards.

- Participate in Agile development ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).

Technical Skills Required :

Core Backend Development :

- Strong programming skills in Java 8+

- Deep understanding of OOP (Object-Oriented Programming) and design patterns

- Experience with Spring Framework, particularly:

- Spring Boot

- Spring MVC

- Spring Security

- Spring Data JPA

API Development & Integration :

- Proficiency in developing RESTful web services and microservices

- Experience with Swagger/OpenAPI for API documentation

- Familiarity with JWT, OAuth2, and other API authentication mechanisms

Database & Persistence :

- Strong knowledge of SQL and RDBMS (e., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle)

- Experience with JPA/Hibernate or other ORM frameworks

- Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis, or Cassandra

DevOps & Tools :

- Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions

- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployment

- Version control using Git and code repository tools like GitHub, Bitbucket

Testing & Code Quality :

- Hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, or other testing frameworks

- Knowledge of static code analysis tools such as SonarQube

Cloud & Deployment (Nice to Have) :

- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

- 5+ years of experience in Java backend development

- Experience with Agile software development methodology

- Java certifications (e., Oracle Certified Java Programmer) are a plus
