Java Application Support Engineer (4-5 Years of Experience)

Location : Bengaluru, Karnataka, India

About the Role :

Talent Worx is looking for a proactive and skilled Java Application Support Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you'll be the frontline for our Java applications, ensuring smooth operations and swift resolution of technical issues.


You'll work closely with internal teams and clients, focusing on timely support, incident management, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities :

- Incident Resolution : Investigate and resolve support issues for our Java applications, collaborating with senior external clients and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and effective resolution.

- L1 Escalation Support : Serve as a point of escalation for support issues from L1, providing detailed analysis and solutions.

- Automation : Identify opportunities and contribute to automating manual processes to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk within the application support function.

- On-Call Rotation : Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents as needed, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly.

- Process Improvement : Continuously suggest and contribute to improving existing processes and systems to enhance reliability and reduce risk in our Java applications.

- Documentation : Create and maintain clear documentation, runbooks, and code snippets to share knowledge with clients and internal engineering teams.

- Client Communication : Communicate effectively and empathetically with clients and stakeholders regarding support issues and resolutions.

- Debug Tooling : Develop and utilize scripts for debug tooling to efficiently troubleshoot application issues.

Must-Have Skills :

- Java Programming : Hands-on experience in Java programming language, with a strong understanding of its core concepts.

- Debugging & API Calls : Proven ability to debug API calls and create quality-of-life snippets for clients to aid in issue resolution.

- Scripting for Debugging : Experience in creating scripts for debug tooling.

- Basic UI & API Integration : Basic knowledge of UI and API integration concepts.

- Basic SQL : Foundational knowledge of SQL for database querying and troubleshooting.

- Client Communication : Presentable and a clear, empathetic communicator, capable of interacting confidently with clients and stakeholders.

- Proactive Support : Willingness to actively execute on support issues while also contributing to building out the support function and automating repeat issue resolutions.

Secondary Skills :

- UNIX Environment : Experience working in a UNIX environment.

- Scripting : Hands-on experience in scripting languages such as Shell script or Perl.

- RDBMS Knowledge : Basic knowledge of RDBMS environments such as Sybase ASE/IQ, Oracle, or DB2
