We are looking for a meticulous and experienced ETL Tester to join our Quality Assurance team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data transformations and data loads within our data warehousing and business intelligence systems.

You will play a crucial part in validating complex data pipelines and collaborating closely with development and business teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform comprehensive ETL testing : Validate the extraction, transformation, and loading processes of data from various source systems into target data warehouses or data marts.

- Validate transformation logic using complex SQL queries : Develop and execute intricate SQL queries to verify data integrity, data quality, and the correctness of business rules applied during data transformations. This includes checking data types, formats, aggregations, and derivations.

- Collaborate with developers and Business Analysts (BAs) : Work closely with development teams to understand the technical design of ETL processes and with Business Analysts to grasp business requirements and data rules, translating them into effective test cases and scenarios.

- Execute functional and regression test cycles for data-heavy applications : Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for new ETL processes and changes, as well as perform regression testing to ensure existing functionalities remain intact after modifications.

- Support defect management and test execution tracking : Identify, document, and track defects using appropriate defect management tools, working with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Provide regular updates on test execution progress and defect status.

- Analyze source and target data to identify discrepancies and data quality issues.

- Contribute to the improvement of testing processes and methodologies.

Required Skills :

- Solid experience in ETL testing and data validation using SQL : Demonstrated expertise in testing ETL processes, including data mapping, data lineage, and data reconciliation. Strong ability to write complex SQL queries (joins, subqueries, aggregate functions) for data validation across different database systems.

- Working knowledge of automation tools (basic scripting in Python) : Familiarity with test automation concepts and practical experience with basic scripting, preferably in Python, for automating data validation checks or test data generation.

- Good communication and analytical skills : Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes of data issues.

Good to Have :

- Exposure to GitHub, Jenkins, AWS S3 : Familiarity with version control systems (GitHub), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines (Jenkins), and cloud storage services (AWS S3) in a data environment.

- Familiarity with data visualization or reporting tools : Experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, Qlik Sense, or similar, for understanding and validating data presented in dashboards and reports.

- Understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Kimball methodology, Inmon methodology).

- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).

- Knowledge of performance testing for data loads.
