Job Description:
Role Summary:
Title: IT Head - Digital Projects
Department: IT
Purpose: Lead and execute digital transformation initiatives across Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M) and associated companies. Drive revenue growth and cost optimization through digital technologies and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Digital Strategy & Execution:
Define and lead digital projects aligned with business goals; develop AI and digital roadmaps.
- Business Collaboration:
Work with manufacturing, marketing, sales, and other functions to identify, pilot, and implement digital initiatives.
- Innovation & Emerging Tech:
- Explore and deploy technologies like AI, GenAI, IIoT, AR/VR, chatbots, and cloud solutions.
Ecosystem Development :
- Build partnerships with startups, vendors, and consulting firms for POCs and solution implementation.
- Capability Building:
Develop digital competencies within IT teams; promote digital culture across leadership.
- Governance & Compliance:
Manage budgets, project timelines, and ensure compliance with ISMS and IT architecture standards.
- Project Management:
Establish a Project Management Office (PMO) to deliver projects within budget and schedule.
- Industry Engagement:
Build external connects to leverage best practices and benchmark digital maturity.
Key Interfaces:
- Internal: Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Operations (approx. 20 direct/indirect reportees).
- External: Consulting firms, vendors, startups.
Accountabilities:
- Unique: Build and drive digital projects, manage budgets, and deliver business outcomes.
- Shared: Partner with business teams for project identification and execution; build business cases and customer/vendor insights.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
- Qualification: BE (Computers) / MCA; MBA preferred
- Experience: 20-22 years, ideally in IT consulting or digital leadership roles in manufacturing organizations
Technical Knowledge :
- Industry 4.0, IIoT, AI, eCommerce, web & mobile apps, SaaS, cloud (Azure/AWS), API management, DevOps, system integration, and cybersecurity.
Soft Skills :
- Leadership, communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, creativity, and networking.
- Attitude:
Proactive, innovative, goal-oriented, and resilient.
