Description :

Role & responsibilities :

- Collaborate with business stakeholders, end-users, and technical teams to understand business needs and system requirements.

- Gather, document, and analyze business and system requirements for new or upgraded IT systems.

- Translate business needs into technical specifications and functional requirements.

Systems Design and Development Support :

- Design IT solutions or contribute to the design of systems based on business requirements.

- Work closely with developers, software engineers, and other IT professionals to implement and optimize systems.

- Review and evaluate existing systems and recommend improvements.

Data Management & Analysis :

- Analyze, manipulate, and visualize large sets of data (for Data Analysts/BI roles).

- Use tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI to generate insights and reports that support decision-making.

- Ensure the integrity and quality of data, and optimize database queries for performance.

Testing & Quality Assurance :

- Conduct system testing, including functional testing, performance testing, and integration testing.

- Ensure that new systems and changes meet the specified requirements and function as expected.

- Work with QA teams to identify and resolve system bugs and issues.

System Monitoring and Maintenance :

- Monitor the performance of IT systems, including servers, networks, databases, and applications.

- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to minimize downtime.

- Perform regular system upgrades, patches, and backups.

Security & Compliance (for Security Analysts) :

- Monitor and analyze security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.

- Implement and manage security tools (e.g., firewalls, antivirus software, encryption systems).

- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and organizational security policies (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

Documentation and Reporting :

- Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, and configurations.

- Create user manuals, technical guides, and reports for stakeholders.

- Report system performance and issues to senior management and suggest improvements.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management :

- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure that IT solutions align with business goals.

- Provide support to end-users, helping them resolve issues with software, hardware, and systems.

- Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams to prioritize and manage requests.

Project Management Support :

- Assist in managing IT projects, ensuring that deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

- Work within Agile or Waterfall methodologies, depending on the project.

- Provide input on project timelines, risks, and resource allocation.

Preferred candidate profile :

Educational Background :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business Information Systems, or a related field.

- A Masters degree or specialized certifications (e.g., CompTIA, AWS, CISSP) is often considered an added advantage, especially for senior positions.

Relevant Experience:

- 3-8 years of experience in IT roles, with a focus on system analysis, support, network administration, data analysis, or cybersecurity, depending on the specialization.

- Hands-on experience in system design, implementation, and maintenance.

- Prior experience working in an Agile or Waterfall project management environment is highly preferred.

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and enterprise software solutions is a plus.

Technical Skills:

- Programming & Scripting: Experience with languages like Python, Java, SQL, PowerShell, or Bash.

- Database Management: Proficiency in relational and non-relational databases (SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

- Cloud Computing: Experience working with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.

- Networking Knowledge: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and other networking protocols (for Network Analysts).

- Security Expertise: Familiarity with network security protocols, threat detection tools, and best practices for data protection (for Security Analysts).

- Data Analysis & Visualization: Proficiency with data analysis tools like Excel, Tableau, Power BI, and R/Python for data analytics roles.

- Business Intelligence: Ability to analyze and report on business metrics and trends using BI tools.

Soft Skills :

- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams.

- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex business or technical problems and devise effective solutions.

- Problem-Solving: A proactive approach to troubleshooting, resolving issues, and improving systems.

- Team Collaboration: Ability to work in cross-functional teams, both with IT professionals and business stakeholders.

- Time Management: Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications (Preferred but not always required) :

- CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+ (for general IT roles).

- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect (for cloud-focused roles).

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) (for network-related roles).

- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) (for security roles).

- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) (for business/systems analysis roles).
