About the Role :

As a Database Engineer at InvestCloud, Inc., you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing relational and non-relational databases. You will work closely with our software development and infra teams to ensure database performance, security, and reliability.

What does a great Database engineer do? A top-notch database engineer can design and construct efficient database schemas and work closely with the development team to provide necessary database queries and objects based on software requirements. They also assist in troubleshooting performance issues and database blockages, understanding the importance and criticality of client agreements. Additionally, they should have a passion for problem-solving, both independently and within a team, and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

How you will provide meaningful contributions :

- Participate in requirements analysis.

- Develop, optimize, and maintain database schemas, queries, and stored procedures.

- Design and implement backup, recovery, and archiving strategies.

- Monitor database performance, perform optimization, and troubleshoot issues.

- Ensure data integrity and security through proper design and implementation.

- Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications.

- Create and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.

- Implement data migration and transformation solutions.

- Perform capacity planning and scaling strategies.

- Support the development of data-related features and provide technical guidance on database-related matters.

- Serve as an expert on database and provide technical support.

Basic Qualifications and Skills for Consideration :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience working with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and non-relational databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Strong knowledge of SQL and database optimization techniques.

- Experience with database design, data modeling, and normalization.

- Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

- Familiarity with database management tools and technologies.

- Experience in automated deployment of database changes across all regions.

- Understanding of data security best practices.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills / Experience :

- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

- Experience working with international and remote teams.

- Experience providing support in troubleshooting issues in live environments.

- Experience working with applications in the financial domain.

- Strong commitment towards quality and schedule.

- Proven ability to work as an individual contributor and team player helping and mentoring other teams.

- Proven ability to influence stakeholders/clients ensuring protocols are not minimized

- Receives general guidance to plan, conduct, and establish a functional vision for assignments, reviews progress and evaluates results.
