Insuritys Next Lead Software Engineer :

Our Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for owning development efforts from inception through completion, providing technical leadership for the team, and reviewing the work of other developers. This role will support Insurity's Regulatory (Circ) team, which is responsible for designing & implementing multiple bureau-driven regulatory changes. They will also serve as a product and domain expert, contributing to the products architecture and supporting its ongoing maintenance.

What Our Lead Software Engineer Will Do :

- Participate in SDLC estimation and development processes and provide guidance to team members.

- Develop technical documentation for software solutions for targeted audience, which may include internal and external customers.

- Develop solutions for issues & enhancements including setting and following coding standards.

- Develop unit tests for code changes and assigned use cases.

- Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting and defect investigation & remediation.

- Provide technical leadership and oversight to other team members.

- Work to reduce complexity in the code base.

- Develop design proposals and prototypes for new problem domains, lead first-time development of highly complex solutions and leveraging emerging technologies to address business needs.

- Complete peer-review of designs, code & artifact delivery.

- Communicate and document impact assessments.

- Stay up to date on industry and job-related trends and best practices.

Who Were Looking For :

- Recommended 8+ years of experience as a software engineer.

- Ability to work U.S. Based hours (full-time ET Time Zone preferred).

- Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

- Core stack : Strong in VB, C#/.NET (ASP.NET Core, Web API) and SQL Server fundamentals (service boundaries, resiliency, observability).

- Front-end / adjacent languages (nice to have) : Experience with React for modern UI work, plus working knowledge of js and/or Python for tooling, services, integrations or automation.

- Generative AI fluency (nice to have) : practical experience using coding assistants to accelerate delivery and crafting prompts.

- Exposure to vendor AI features or no/low-code connectors.

- Strong API design & documentation.
